DAY 1 - ARRIVAL AT BEN GURION AIRPORT
Meeting, welcome and assistance by a tour representative
who will assist with luggage and customs. Transfer to hotel.
Overnight Tel Aviv.
DAY 2 - TEL AVIV Morning
sightseeing of Tel Aviv beginning with a drive along Dizengoff
Street to view the Agam Fire and Water Sculpture, the Mann
Auditorium and the Habima National Theater. Continue to
Old Jaffa, just south of Tel Aviv, which has been restored
as an Artists' Quarter. From here to the University of Tel
Aviv for a tour of the Museum of Jewish Diaspora to view
the fascinating exhibits which trace the dispersion of the
Jewish People over the centuries. Overnight Tel Aviv. |

DAY 3 - TEL AVlV - CAESAREA - HAIFA
Drive along the Mediterranean coast for a visit to Caesarea
to view the archaeological ruins of this ancient Herodian
Port City, Byzantine Center and Crusader stronghold. Continue
to Haifa to view the golden domed Bahai Temple situated
in the beautiful Persian Gardens and for a panoramic view
of Haifa from Mt. Carmel. In the afternoon drive north to
Zippori, remains of an early settlement, mainly from the
Roman and Byzantine periods. Overnight Haifa. |
DAY
4 - HAIFA - ACRE - SAFED - GOLAN
HEIGHTS - KIBBUTZ Depart Haifa for the ancient
city of Acre, which until the 19th century was an important
seaport. Drive to Safed, famous since the Middle Ages as
a center of Jewish mysticism (Kabbalah) with its charming
artist quarter. Continue to the Good Fence, the border between
Israel and Lebanon. Proceed through the Golan Heights to
Banias, a main source of the Jordan River and a nature reserve,
and continue to your kibbutz. Overnight Kibbutz
DAY
5 - CAPERNAUM - TIBERIAS - BETH
SHEAN - JERICHO - JERUSALEM In the morning, drive
through Rosh Pina, the oldest Jewish colony in the Upper
Galilee, to visit Capernaum with its ancient white limestone
synagogue dating back to the 3rd-4th century AD. Sail across
the Sea of Galilee to Tiberias, capital of the Lower Galilee
and important Jewish center of Rabbinical learning, to visit
the tomb of Maimonides, philosopher and writer of the 12th
century. Also visit the ancient synagogues and mosaics of
Hamat Tiberias. Drive to recently excavated city of Beit
Shean, the most monumental Roman/Byzantine City in the area.
Proceed through the Jordan Valley and Jericho, the oldest
and lowest inhabited city in the world, and then continue
to Jerusalem. Overnight Jerusalem.
DAY
6 - NEW CITY OF JERUSALEM
Begin sightseeing with a visit to the Holyland Hotel to
see the Model of Ancient Jerusalem from the time of the
Second Temple. Drive to the Hadassah Medical Center to view
the Famous Chagall Windows depicting the Twelve Tribes of
Israel. Proceed to Yad Vashem Memorial of the Holocaust
and visit the Children's Memorial. End the day's tour with
a visit to the Israel Museum and the Shrine of the Book
housing the Dead Sea Scrolls. Drive past the Knesset (Israel's
Parliament) before returning to Hotel. Overnight Jerusalem. |
DAY 7 - OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM
Start the day experiencing a breathtaking view of the entire
City of David from Mount Scopus and the Mount of Olives.
Enter by foot the ancient walled Old City visiting the Jewish
Quarter with its reconstructed Byzantine Cardo, the four
reconstructed synagogues and the Herodian Mansions. Continue
to the Western Wall. Ascend the Mount Zion and visit the
Tomb of King David. Continue to the Citadel to visit the
Tower of David Museum of the history of Jerusalem. End the
day at the Haas Promenade for a panoramic view of Jerusalem
and the City of David from its southern side. Overnight

DAY 8 - JERUSALEM - QUMRAN - DEAD
SEA - MASADA Depart Jerusalem descending through
the Judean Hills to the Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea
scrolls were discovered. Drive along the shores of the Dead
Sea, the lowest spot on earth, to visit Masada. Ascend by
cable car and tour the famous archaeological site, ancient
fortress where zealots made their last stand against the
Romans before committing mass suicide in 73 CE. Descend
by cable car. Drive back to Jerusalem via the desert oasis
of Ein Gedi. Time and weather permitting, enjoy the unique
experience of "floating" in the Dead Sea. Overnight Jerusalem.
